Fee Assistance
We want everyone to be able to play!
2024: All registrations are being processed on-line with payment via credit card or debit. If you need to pay via other means, or require financial assistance, please contact us at ball@spcakitchener.ca and a program administrator will get back to you.
Ultimately, we ask that those requiring financial assistance with our registration fee(s) to seek such through one of the local organizations providing such -- generally JumpStart, OutReach (representatives at various community centres), Family & Children's Services, or other as available to you.
For City of Kitchener residents, Canadian Tire's JumpStart program is a good starting point. In addition, both the cities of Kitchener and Waterloo offer their residents funding assistance through their Leisure Access programs with slightly different benefits:
- Kitchener's Leisure Access funding can only be used for their City programs (such as swimming lessons) and facilities. In spite of the fact that it does not provide direct assistance for our ball program, it does validate your need for a registration subsidy for our program.
- Waterloo's Leisure Access funding can be used for their City programs (same as in Kitchener) but also for, with City approval, local minor sports programs affiliated with the City of Waterloo or KW programs. (Our Stanley Park Ball Program is associated with the City of Kitchener but NOT Waterloo so is not eligible for funding through Waterloo's Leisure Access program.)
- Kitchener & Waterloo residents wishing assistance for participation in minor sports programs (such as ours) are required to submit a separate request (on-line is best) to JumpStart -- the application goes directly to the JumpStart administration for processing..
- House of Friendship OutReach workers (at various community centres) have various sources of funds and can coordinate applications for such and provide guidance for programs providing help; e.g. sports programs, courses, transportation, food bank, shelter, employment, child care, etc. If you have a case worker, that is the best place to initiate the process. They know all about local assistance and will help you apply.
We also have an inventory of baseball gloves for those in need of such. Now, not only does everyone get to play, but play safe and enjoy the game!
